I apply learning and related sciences to improve the results from instruction.
I started out as a trainer years ago and became a workplace learning leader in a healthcare system. I continue to work on workplace learning projects, so I understand the needs and constraints of improving work performance in workplace learning settings. I have a strong business background, which helps me connect business needs and viable learning and performance solutions.
My PhD trained me to read, do, and apply research. I continue to read and write about research because I’m a long-time workplace learning practitioner who cares deeply about good outcomes.
And using the evidence from various sciences, such as learning, educational psychology, usability, human-computer interaction and others is the most effective and efficient way to get there.
Here are just a few examples of what others say about my work.

I have always been impressed with Patti's expertise and professionalism. Her research-based approach will give you the confidence that what she recommends and designs is based on evidence, not opinion. With that, she's very pragmatic and focuses on what needs to be done. Last but not least, she's just a very nice person and a delight to work with.
